Sue de Beer (b. 1973) uses staged scenes and storylines focused on the dark side of adolescence to
create her videos, photographs and installations. Historical and literary references are a guide through
her uncanny and haunting imagery. Her work has been presented internationally at institutions such
as the Whitney Museum of American Art, NY; ZKM, Karlsruhe, Germany; Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt,
Germany; Brooklyn Museum of Art, NY; P.S. 1, NY; and the Reina Sophia Museum, Madrid. Repre-
sented by Marianne Boesky Gallery.
