ICI Press FAQ
General information can be found on ICI’s FAQ page.
Q: I am a journalist. Can I gain entry to your exhibitions with my ID or do I need a press card?
A: This is at the discretion of each venue. ICI does not control admissions to its traveling exhibitions. In general, you can usually gain entry for you and one guest with valid ID that identifies your media outlet.
Q: As a member of the media, may I view exhibitions at times when ICI’s exhibitions are closed to the public?
A: Again, this is at the discretion of each of our participating venues. We would be happy to connect you with the relevant press liaison to propose your visit. ICI’s partner institutions also hold media previews before each exhibition opens to the public.
Q: I am working on a feature article/broadcast story on the ICI/one of your exhibitions/an artist participating in your show. How do I obtain an interview with an appropriate person?
Q: I am a journalist and I want to come to an ICI exhibition opening.
PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILMING
Q: How do I obtain high-resolution installation images of works in current ICI exhibitions?
Q: May I take photographs of your exhibitions?
A: This is at the discretion of each participating exhibition venue in conjunction with ICI guidelines. Permissions may vary for each venue, and for different exhibitions or individual works.
Q: How do I obtain images of past exhibitions?
A: We can provide installation shots of many past exhibitions which can be obtained from our file sharing site with the appropriate login details (see above). We cannot provide images of works from old shows. This is because someone else owns the rights and permissions to photographs of the work, and we are granted temporary rights to use images in conjunction with exhibition publicity. Once the exhibition closes, we lose the rights to provide images of the works in it.
Q: How do I obtain access to out-of-print catalogues or other scholarly publications?
A: Please see our General FAQ page for information on how to purchase all of our catalogues.
Q: Can I take photos or film in the museum for a book/television/feature film or for my own personal use?
Q: I would like a photo of an item/catalogue in your retail shop. How can I get one?
Q: I’d like to know if a specific art work/artists’ work is currently on display in an ICI exhibition.
A: Please contact specific venues to for the most up-to-date information on the viewing availability of artworks.
Q: How do I obtain a catalogue for a past, current, or future exhibition?
